...Village Arts has become my kids' second home. Not only do the instructors teach so much about the arts, but most importantly their culture of generosity and inclusion has helped build my kids' confidence and taught them to truly root for every single member of the VA community...

Kids will start with Homework then go to their “PLUS” class! Clay Play: Village Arts clay studio is for kids of all ages where they can explore the wonders of clay and the process of creating their own work. This mess friendly class unleashes the fun that comes from creating an original work from a lump of clay to a fully glazed piece – be it a monster, a taco cat, a big smiley face or a coffee cup for mom! Led by local artists, Cia Atkins, who is also a lead artists with Muralism.Org. Check out some of her work on Village Arts mural over the parking lot.

Kids will start with Homework then go to their “PLUS” class! Graffiti & Airbrush Lab: Local artist and longtime Village Arts teacher, Al Batiste, has created this unique and fun class where each week kids will dive headlong into the history and language of street art by creating tags, throw-ups, burners, stencils, characters as well as lettering and airbrush techniques. Beyond cool techniques, this class builds confidence and voice. Kids start with developing a personal “tag,” and turn sketches into polished pieces, culminating in a mini-portfolio.
