SUMMER TEEN WORKSHOPS @ VILLAGE ARTS

A series of 8 classes designed to challenge, inspire, and elevate your performing skills! It’s the perfect place to meet and work with other creative teens from around the community. Come for the workshop and stay for the fun!

  • Who: Rising 9th graders and up, all skill levels
  • When: Wednesday evenings, 6-7:30pm, from June 17-August 5
  • Where: Village Arts’ Caldwell Hall
  • Cost: $250 for all 8 sessions, $35 for drop-ins

Tap Dance with Lindsay Gamache:
Lindsay is a professional actress here in LA. Originally from Pittsburgh, Lindsay got her BFA in musical theatre from Penn State University. Upon graduating, she performed in the Japan & North American Tour of 42nd Street the Musical. She then headed to LA to continue her career in theatre, tv/film, and voice over.

Auditioning with Brian Stepanek:
Develop confidence and fine-tune comedic timing while learning the process of how to break down a scene for an audition with specific character thoughts.
Brian is a versatile actor known for his work in television and film. He has gained recognition for roles in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Young Sheldon, The Loud House and Academy Award Best Picture, Green Book. Recently, he returned to his musical theater roots, starring as Max Bialystock in The Producers at the Renaissance Theatre in Ohio.

Shakespeare with Virginia Sommer:
Virginia holds an MFA in Acting from Case Western Reserve University/The Cleveland Play House, and a BA in Theatre from Marquette University. She’s worked as an actor, director, and teaching artist in NYC, Los Angeles, and her home state of Minnesota.

Improv Comedy with Adam Felber:
Adam Felber is a writer, actor, teacher, and radio personality (frequently heard as a panelist or guest host on NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me”). He has taught improv, writing, communication, and team-building workshops in New York, Boston, and LA. Known primarily as a TV writer with such credits as Real Time with Bill Maher and many others, Adam has also written for film, print, and multimedia.

Hip Hop and Jazz Dance with Jenae Patterson:
Jenae Lauryn is a dancer, choreographer, and educator with over 20 years of training across ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, heels, and African dance. She has trained at renowned institutions including The Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz & Contemporary Trainee Program. Jenae continues to advance her craft through the work-study program at Millennium Dance Complex. Her performance experience includes music videos, live shows, and Choreographer’s Carnival, while her choreographic work spans professional artists, youth dance teams, and children’s musical theatre.

Musical Theatre Dance with Sabrina Williams:
Sabrina is a recent graduate from UCLA with a BA in Musical Theater. This summer, she will be performing in Joseph…Dreamcoat at Music Theatre West AND Anastasia at La Mirada Theatre. She is a triple-threat performer who has been recognized for her singing, dancing/choreography AND acting!
