Marcia Our daughter joined Village Arts when she was in kindergarten. Her dad had just passed away and I thought it would be a good way for her to express her feelings through performing arts. She loved it and I truly believe it helped her go through the grieving process. I am very grateful to Pam and John because has participated in 12 plays and many times on a scholarship because i didn’t have enough funds available to cover the cost of the program. They have always welcomed her and our family with open arms and a kind heart. Village Arts is a treasure to our community.

My girls have LOVED Village Arts virtual summer camp! They love the variety of doing different activities each day - they wish it was longer! Being able to connect, be creative and have fun has truly been a bright spot! Particular favorites have been the super cool bird feeder art project and the Hamilton dance party with Ms. Jodie!

Village Arts is truly a place for everyone. Ms Pam and her team came highly recommended. We have watched 2 of their shows on stage previously and loved it. This is our first time doing a mini zoom camp with them, my daughter loved it that she asked me to sign her up for all sessions. There is a good mix of activities and the art kit is so exciting to get. Truly, 1 hour is not enough for all the fun she gets.

My son has loved the online Village Arts summer mini-camp. It was his first time doing it and he was nervous at first, but all the teachers were amazing! They made him feel comfortable and he had so much fun. The mini-camps had small classes so he received lots of attention and it was very interactive. Village Arts & especially Teacher Jodie has been so special to us in helping foster self confidence & pride in our daughter. Village Arts Theatre is truly a precious gift for our son. Not only does it promote listening skills, engagement with others and the importance of attention to others’ actions, but it does all of this in a warm, safe environment.

Under Pam’s nurturing guidance for the past five years, I have watched my daughter turn from a timid girl into a fearless performer, making such interesting choices on stage it actually surprises me sometimes.

You drop your excited children off for 6-8 weeks and at the end of the session, the entire team of Village Arts has created a beautiful production made solely from a ton of passion and a lot of hard work. We watched our child turn into an incredibly brave, outgoing, hilarious, and (who knew) really talented kid come to life. It truly is magical.

There is nothing more fulfilling than watching your child develop and grow into her own.

As parents, we so appreciate the joy Pam & John bring to the creative process. They are so encouraging of self-expression, and accepting of the enthusiasm kids bring to the arts. t is at Village Arts that my quirky anxious son has found his voice... Pam is a magician. She draws out such joy and confidence and strength in all our kids. I will never forget a production of Into the Woods in which the narrator had a severe stutter. Even with this disability Pam chose her to have the most lines....There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and we all left better for having watched that narrator SHINE. Watching that performance will stay with me and my family always. This is just one example of how Pam and John magically lift our community!

Our daughter was a little nervous to do her first play (Alice in Wonderland) but those nerves quickly faded when she went to her first rehearsal with Ms. Jeanne! Ms. Jeanne and Ms. Pam have created such a nurturing environment for these kids. The highlight of her week now is her outdoor acting/improv class with Ms. Pam on Saturdays. She is able to be creative, learn, see her peers, and have fun while being 100% COVID safe. Our family is so grateful to Village Arts for all they have given to our community as well as our daughter. Our son has been part of Village Arts for the past 2.5 years and has participated in several theater productions. We've all loved the nurturing, inclusive and FUN environment Village Arts provides. has enjoyed every moment and we've really seen him blossom under their team's expert and kind guidance. I can't think of a better organization to introduce kids to the performing arts. We are so grateful for Village Arts!

I like to sign my kids up for extra curricular activities that are not only fun, but teach them something. Village Arts provides so many benefits to our children. It's a wonderful creative outlet and it teaches the kids to learn lines and think on their feet. I think most importantly it gives them valuable practice for public speaking. As an adult, I still have a hard time with that. Instilling the confidence at a young age to speak or perform in front of an audience is invaluable.

Our daughter, age 7, has loved being a part of Village Arts classes and theater shows since she was 4. All the teachers care so much about each child and their growth as artists. It is essential for her and other kids to have programs like Village Arts to stretch their imaginations and build their confidence and creativity! And it is tons of fun!

Even though our daughter struggles with a stutter, she felt confident and comfortable enough to participate in the plays Village Arts conducted. We were looking forward to another exciting year in your program. We appreciate everything you and your team have put into making this experience as enjoyable as it has been. Village Arts has been a big part of our elementary experience. Our daughter is 11 years old and did her first musical with Village Arts in 2015. She was hooked from that first performance and has not missed a Village Arts musical since, even during the summer! Pam and John have built such a creative and safe space for the kids and Village Arts has remained a constant love for [Name] over the past 6 years. The program has taught her teamwork, confidence and helped develop her passion for performing. Even now, during this pandemic, Pam and John have found a fun and safe way to keep our kids engaged and their outdoor program is one of the things [Name] looks forward to each week! Village Arts has made a profound and positive impact on our son . He started in the program at 7 yrs, shy and hesitant to get onstage. Ms. Pam and team were kind, nurturing and encouraging to him as his confidence grew. It was their patience and making him feel seen and accepted that made the big difference. Village Arts is still a place that he feels safe to express himself. At 13 yrs old and with 10 productions under his belt, it's still one of his favorite places to be!

Village Arts has helped me give my daughter self-confidence and wonderful exposure to the world of musical theater. She has participated on 5 productions since she was in the 3rd grade two years ago. We are so grateful for what Village Arts does for our community and our children.

From our first year at Colfax Elementary School, we were intrigued by the Village Arts Theater Program with Pam and John Moser. I tried to encourage my shy and soft-spoken daughter in Kindergarten and first grade to give it a try. She loved seeing all the performances but was not yet ready to participate. By the time, my daughter was in 3rd grade, in 2017, she was finally ready to give the program a try. That was the beginning of a true love, for not only Ms. Pam and her amazing shows, but theater itself. This program has helped my daughter grow with confidence and social skills and work as a group to create something wonderful. My daughter is now 11 years old and she has not missed a performance opportunity with Village Arts Program since. She now attends a performing arts magnet school, where those learned skills have helped develop the creative performer she is today. Our family is so grateful for the growth my daughter has experienced with Village Arts.

Village Arts has been instrumental in my child’s happiness and development. She has learned to sing, dance, act, and full express he creative and artistic talents. A program like this is so vital for the health and success of children.

Village Arts was such an integral part of my son's elementary school experience. He learned how to find his voice through Pam and John's wonderful program. He participated in 5 plays and each was more incredible than the next... Village Arts nurtures the kids in the most positive ways. They bring out talent in each and every kid they work with. My daughter was shy and had very few friends. She loved to sing and perform at home but getting on stage in front of others was too much and caused her a lot of anxiety. When Village Arts came to Colfax, she was excited. She tried out and made the cast! Through all the support and family oriented attitude, she developed so many life changing skills and we are grateful for all the fun, love, and laughter it has brought into our family and our daughter’s life.

My son, did two Village Arts productions starting a few years ago, and one that became “virtual” as Village Arts adapted to Coronavirus isolated living. Village Arts exposed our kiddo, and all of his fellow participants a super fun and positive environment to perform and be creative. This outlet provided him with a source of striving for accomplishment, memorizing his lines and music and dance. Also, the feeling of community, between the children, Village Arts “older” kids that had graduated but still participated in the program, and the incredible staff, has been cherished and one that our son finds very special, as do we. The quality of the productions has also been extraordinary, and something the children and teachers can be very proud of. These times are especially challenging for the arts, and children ache for the ability to create, learn, and achieve in an artistic climate. We yearn for a time when they can all be involved in person again, and can’t stress enough the importance of Village Arts.

My eight-year-old daughter had just turned five when she first started at Village Arts in 2017. She has gone on to perform in three plays and each year her part got bigger as her confidence grew being in front of an audience. I can’t tell you how wonderful Village Arts has been for my daughter socially. I truly believe it is a vital program in our community.

Pam and John are incredibly warm, supportive, and accepting, and Village Arts has become my kids' second home. Not only do the instructors teach so much about the arts, but most importantly their culture of generosity and inclusion has helped build my kids' confidence and taught them to truly root for every single member of the VA community. My family is so grateful for Village Arts!

Village Arts has always been a bright light in my children's lives. I have two daughters They both started with Village Arts in second grade (2014, 2016). At Village Arts, they found a place where they felt appreciated, valued, and seen. They were taught about things like supporting others, working together, and how to belt out a famous Broadway tune. Every semester, my girls would beg to be part of this program again. They didn't care who got the starring role because Pam and John (the directors) made sure this wasn't a place about petty competition and hierarchy. What mattered at Village Arts was community and respect and anyone who participated for even a day felt mission. Additionally, Village Arts puts on professional and truly good theatre. Their shows are organized, fun, and always entertaining. I am very grateful that my children have gotten to be part of this jewel.

My son was 10 in the summer of 2019. He was being bullied [at the camp he was attending that summer]. Pam and John made room for him at the last minute. [My Son] had the best summer working on High School Musical. I was so relieved to have him in an inclusive and supportive environment. What a wonderful community.

This wonderful musical theater program really gave my daughter the opportunity to be part of a creative process that was so enriching for her. Pam and John are incredible mentors in the musical theater community and it was a really positive and confidence-building experience for my daughter. Community theater for young people couldn’t be more important, especially now and I cannot think of an organization more worthy of support than Village Arts. It would be truly tragic for our community and thousands of children if Village Arts would not be around.

A Village Arts teen Volunteer: I'm 17 years old, and I volunteered at Village Arts from 2018 to 2019. My sister was also involved in VA productions. It was absolutely incredible to see the kids blossom and come out of their shells even after a short time. Village Arts gives kids the amazing and unique opportunity to express themselves wholeheartedly. It gives them a chance to explore the arts and their own individuality. Pam and John are two of the most hardworking and dedicated people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They put their entire heart and soul into Village Arts. When I step outside my house, walk down my driveway, and look to the left, I can see the building where Village Arts lives. That's how close we are, literally and figuratively. One of my fondest memories growing up was participating in and watching my sister and her friends in Pam's productions. I couldn't imagine what it would be like for kids in the future to be without the opportunity to have that experience.

A Village Arts former student: I’m 15, and I joined Village Arts back in 2016. I did one musical “Fiddler on the Roof” two talent shows and one acting class there. I remember having so much fun doing all of this, from rehearsals for the musical to scenes in class, I was so happy to have the opportunity to have been a part of such a wonderful community. I live so close that when I drive by there I always smile because of how many times I had walked in there from watching friends’ performances to actually performing, I will forever gladly say Village Arts is a huge part of my childhood. Everyone there was and still is so welcoming and nice, and as someone that loves performing, I always enjoyed going there. I’m smiling as I write this because I remember the friends I already had there to the friends I made there, and it really feels especially amazing because of the fact they are right across the street so whenever I did stuff there it was always a breeze to drive there, never any stress. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to have been a part of this wonderful community and it’s genuinely such a happy environment.

My son who is now 15 began performing with Village arts when he was 9, and my daughter began when she was 5. They have been in multiple productions over these years. Through this program our children had an amazing opportunity to experience theatre arts, life on the stage and to make life long friends. Pam and John have at their heart a deep desire to give all children an arts experience to enrich their lives. Their kind, sweet and encouraging ways make all children feel safe, warm and loved while having a whole lot of fun learning how to perform! We are grateful to have had Village Arts as a part of our children’s lives.

Village Arts became a part of our lives in the summer of 2014 when my daughter, then 6, joined the cast of Peter Pan as a mermaid named Della. She spoke one line and sang along with the ensemble, beaming the whole way through. Since that production, she has performed in 13 productions, her most memorable starring as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz alongside her twin brother as the lion and a cast of some of her dearest friends. Over the years, Village Arts has become an extended family to us. Pam, John, Jane, Jeanne, Melissa, and all of the wonderful teen helpers have worked with our children to help them shine on stage. The confidence and love of theater that both of my children have gained in our years with Village Arts is beyond compare. I cannot imagine their childhood years without the performances and friendships they have made because of Village Arts. I am so grateful to Village Arts for so many reasons. Valley Village is a community made up of top-tier professional entertainment talent including Broadway and television actors, professional actors and scores of below-the-line professionals. Their universal support and investment in Village Arts is a testament to the level of quality and importance Village Arts brings to our community but could also serve as a role model for similar programs around the country. There would be no better use of grant funds than to support the premiere quality programming at Village Arts.
